The Open Gallery will welcome Pravin Sevak, VU Professor of Art and Design, for the month of April in a retrospective of his poster design work, titled Open for Common Good, which highlights his brilliant career in the field. Sevak will be retiring from teaching in May and will be leaving our community, so we have a chance to celebrate his work. Sevak's works are tight compositions, masterful in their simplicity, but powerful in the interconnection of design elements. He writes, " Each aspect of a composition is significant, significant enough to carry the entire weight of his message. Every visual element is considered both independently and compositionally to achieve aesthetics in the final design."

Sevak will be on hand on Friday, April 1 from 5-8 p.m. to discuss his body of work with Open Gallery patrons. Please stop by and wish him well as he begins a new chapter in his life, an 'open door" ready for new areas of creative exploration for our common good. The show will run from April 1- 25, 2022.
